Did you know that the national sport of Canada is not just hockey? It is also lacrosse! They are co-national sports, with hockey the official winter sport and lacrosse the official summer sport.  While promoting skill and finesse, lacrosse also develops the concept of teamwork and is a great way to stay fit.

Box lacrosse is a fun, fast exciting sport played by both boys and girls. League play starts in April and finishes around June. Provincial championships are held in July and early August.

Chilliwack Minor Lacrosse (1993) is a non-profit organization that promotes the game of box lacrosse in the City of Chilliwack.

Chilliwack Minor Lacrosse is a member of BC Lacrosse Association and shares the goals of teaching the basic fundaments of the sport in a fun and positive environment. Skill development, fair play and sportsmanship are promoted through our coaches and executive.

Why kids should play lacrosse?

  • To give your kids the opportunity to build self-esteem.
  • To put a stop to the never-ending pressure to fit in and be part of the crowd.
  • To get your kids participating in physical activity.
  • To create an avenue for your kids to make friends, learn to work as a team and become a leader in your community.
  • Hockey players such as Gretzky, Sakic, Shanahan, Ronning, Kariya, Nieuwendyk and Oates all have one thing in common...they have all played Lacrosse and have used the experience to enhance their hockey skills.
  • You can share in their experience by playing Lacrosse!
